Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 June 2026

This policy explains how deen.ai ("we", "us") handles your information when you interact with our WhatsApp service (the "deen.ai assistant", reachable on +44 7537 173787). By messaging the assistant you agree to this policy.

What we collect

When you message the deen.ai assistant on WhatsApp, we collect:

We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive personal information, payment-card details, passwords, or government identifiers.

How we use it

We use your information to:

Automated processing (AI)

The assistant is automated. Your messages are processed by a large language model (Anthropic's Claude, accessed through Amazon Web Services Bedrock) to generate replies. Religious answers are produced by retrieving and summarising published fatwas with source links. The assistant relays published material and is not a scholar and does not issue religious rulings of its own.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers that make the service work:

We may also disclose information where required by law.

Storage and retention

Conversation data is stored encrypted at rest on AWS infrastructure. We retain it for as long as needed to operate, secure, audit, and improve the service. You can ask us to delete your data (see below).

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the UK GDPR), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. You can stop using the assistant at any time by no longer messaging it and, on WhatsApp, by blocking the number.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
